A true indigo dyeing experience using traditional techniques - a winning indigo created with commitment and pride

Yano Aishu has inherited the traditional technique of natural lye fermentation for genuine indigo dyeing dating back to the Edo period. Immerse yourself in the dedication, pride, and strong conviction towards Awa Ai indigo (sukumo), and fully enjoy the charm of genuine indigo. First, after receiving an explanation about the tradition of Awa Ai indigo (sukumo), the history from the Edo period, and the techniques of indigo dyeing used for the fabric of traditional Japanese attire, you will craft your own indigo-dyed project using the beautiful Kachi-ai indigo color of natural lye fermentation seen in Otani Ware vessels, which is representative of Tokushima. The pieces dyed under Yano's guidance turn out exceptionally beautiful, providing a memorable and valuable experience.
