Welcome to "Oponaka-Mura village" ! You'll enjoy listening to "Yayoi (the ancient Japanese Language)" at the museum in the Ohnaka-Iseki Ruins.
We exhibits artifacts excavated from the Ohnaka-Iseki Ruins, our local and historical heroes "Joseph Heco" and "Imazato Denbei", and materials related to the Behu Railway.
On weekends, it hosts a variety of workshop about cultural heritage for parents and children.
It is remarkable that we holds special exhibitions every autumn.
Other than those, you can ride the locomotive and passenger vehicle on outdoor display.

Yayoi was created by a linguist of the ancient Japanese language. It was based on Japanese ancient documents, for example Manyohshu and Kojiki. We don't know if the ancient Japanese people really spoke it.
