Sashimi Making Experience

Sashimi Making Experience

Fishing is the main industry in Ine Town, and is conducted mainly at three fishing ports: Ine, Nii, and Kamanyu. The methods vary widely, from large fixed nets, longline fishing and gill net fishing, to private aquaculture. As the fishing boats return to Ine fishing port each morning, the town comes alive. There is even an announcement which notifies the town of the boats’ return, upon which nearby locals flock to the port. This system means that Ine Town does not need a fresh fish store.
The town is now offering a special workshop to visitors—using fresh seasonal fish caught that day, participants can learn how to prepare sashimi from a local professional. Anticipating how the fish will end up is part of the fun. The Yosasou Waterfront Inn is one of Ine’s popular ryokan, and it is here that participants will learn the authentic method for preparing sashimi. Drop by and experience the seasonal tastes of Ine Town.
