Ishiyamadera Temple

Ishiyamadera Temple

[This ‘temple of flowers’ was the setting of important Heian-era literature]
Inside the vast temple grounds lies an enormous, beautiful wollastonite rock, and the area is also said to be where Murasaki Shikibu planned The Tale of Genji. Many other famous spots are nearby, including Mii-dera Temple, and it also affords and beautiful view of Lake Biwa.
