Tango is Japan's largest silk-producing region for kimono fabrics, boasting a history spanning over 300 years. It is here that the "create ebara Showroom: silk & cafe" opened in October 2023. Upon entering, you are greeted by a massive, fully functional silk loom that stands like a work of art. You will begin by learning about the history, craftsmanship, and culture of Tango silk, as well as the world-class silk jacquard technology of Ebara Sangyo. Next comes a unique experience found nowhere else in the world: under the guidance of a professional weaver, you can operate the loom yourself. The loom has been modified with a push-button system, allowing you to watch the pattern being woven as you work. You can even climb up onto the loom to observe its intricate structure-a perspective rarely seen, even by professional weavers.
