This page provides official travel information about Tour of the knife craftsman's workshop and Miki hardware gallery and nearby attractions in the Kansai region of Japan.
You can observe the knife-sharpening process at a 140-year-old machiya (traditional townhouse) designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property. In the atmospheric gallery-housed in the renovated main building-you can purchase various Miki metalware products, such as kitchen knives, scissors, and gardening tools, while receiving direct explanations from the artisans. Hands-on experiences, such as test-cutting and knife-sharpening workshops, are also available depending on the circumstances.
