SHIMANO BICYCLE MUSEUM

With the aim of bringing the fun of cycling to more people than ever before and contributing to society by providing a new kind of value, the Shimano Cycle Development Center was renovated and re-opened in March 2022 as the Shimano Bicycle Museum in Minamikoyou-cho, Sakai Ward, Sakai City. Exhibition spaces consist of 1st floor, 2nd floor, and 4th floor venues. Topics including the global history of bicycles, the dreams of the inventors, the science and the future are covered using real bicycles from around the world along with skillfully employed panels and video that are both easy to understand and create the feeling that you were really there. On the second floor, the "Beginnings of the Bicycle" zone uses panoramic images to cover the history and transports you back in time with a dramatic rendition of the bicycle's invention, providing an exciting experience for everyone from children to adults.
