Gripped Black Sumi Ink Experience
Experience making gripped sumi at Kinkoen, a type of ink made by hand-kneading raw ink, in a workshop that exudes the scent of the past. Learn about the history of sumi ink and then make your own unique gripped sumi. From the moment that you grip the raw sumi in your hands, you will experience its scent, softness and warmth. You can take home a truly unique and original item with the shape and fingerprints of your own hands as a souvenir from Nara. We also offer an optional calligraphy experience.
