Enjoy Japanese culture in this mini tatami-making experience

Come and experience Japanese culture in the historical district of Sakai, where Japanese traditions are still preserved. Listen to a tatami craftsman talk and try your hand at making mini tatami mats. Although they are small in size, the materials are the same as real tatami. Choose the tatami's color and materials, as well as the color and pattern of the border (Sakai's unique kofun burial mound motif) to complete the mini tatami to your liking. The size of the completed tatami mat is 18 by 25 cm.
