Shukubo Kansho-in Temple Sanrakuso

Shukubo Kansho-in Temple Sanrakuso

Kansho-in Sanrakuso is one of the ten halls of Daisen-ji Temple nestled in the mountain. The Temple is said to have been founded in the 8th century and Akala is worshiped here. It has been running as a shukubo (visitor’s lodging in the temple) for over 400 years by Daisen-ji Temple’s gate in the Daisen Oki National Park.

Daisen-ji’s traditional vegetarian cuisine is served - Shojin Ryori does not use meat, fish, egg or dairy, but plant-based ingredients based on Buddhism commandments. Wild plants harvested from Mt.Daisen and other vegetables are generous and suited for vegetarian or vegan guests. from April through mid December, you can come just to eat their Shojin Cuisine registered as Daisen Hyakusai Shoku (longevity cuisine).
You can try zen meditation and copying sutra or a Buddha image to have a tranquil time.
