Shrine pavilions that set off against the sky of Kyoto
The Taikyokuden, which was located in Dai-Dairi in Heiankyo, the former capital, has been reconstructed to five-eighths of its original size. Shinen, an extensive Japanese garden behind the Honden main hall, spans 30,000 square meters. Spring is the best season to visit in order to appreciate the weeping cherry blossoms. Jidai Matsuri (Festival of the Ages) is held here annually on October 22, depicting Japan's splendid history and culture.
