Mizuki Shigeru Museum

Mizuki Shigeru Museum

The approximately 800-meter long road extending out from JR Sakaiminato Station is known as Mizuki Shigeru Road. Along this road welcoming visitors to the area are 177 bronze statues of yokai creatures originally created by Japanese manga artist Mizuki Shigeru, who was born and raised in Sakaiminato.
Continue directly along the road and you will find the Mizuki Shigeru Museum, where Shigeru's fanciful world is introduced through a range of displays and movies. Visitors can take a self-guided audio tour of the exhibits by listening to detailed explanations in five different languages (Japanese, English, Korean, Chinese, and Russian) or by tuning in to the in-house wi-fi service for smartphones.
