MEDIEVAL SAKAI HISTORICAL WALKING WITH GUIDE
Take a themed tour of Sakai focused on the samurai Miyoshi Nagayoshi, described as the first person to crawl up to become "ruler of the country" in the Warring States Period, as well as his father, Motonaga; his younger brother, Jikkyu; and the Miyoshi clan leader, Masanaga. Together, the Miyoshi clan exerted great power in the Sakai area in 16th century. You will learn about the Sakai bakufu government that arose amidst complex succession disputes with the Ashikaga clan and Hosokawa clan, as well as the Nichiren sect of Buddhism and its relationship and distance with the opposing Honganji sect.

- [Half day Course 1] Visit sites connected to the history of the Miyoshi clan and Sakai bakufu. First meet up at Shichido Station -> Visit the site of the Kaisen Mandokoro -> Zenchoji Temple -> Myokokuji Temple -> Aguchi-jinja Shrine -> Sakai Plaza of Rikyu and Akiko - End the tour after arrival . [Half day Course 2] Seeking the legacy of Miyoshi Nagayoshi. First meet up at Sakai Plaza of Rikyu and Akiko -> Kenponji Temple -> Myohoji Temple -> Site of Injoji Temple -> Nanshuji Temple -> Return to Sakai Plaza of Rikyu and Akiko and end the tour after arrival. [Full-Day Course] Half day Course 1 followed by Half day Course 2: Gather at Shichido Station (Itinerary follows the Half day Course 1 itinerary above) -> After arriving at Sakai Plaza of Rikyu and Akiko , temporarily end the tour (*Lunch arrangements and meal costs are not included in this tour.) / Meet up again for the tour at Sakai Plaza of Rikyu and Akiko (Itinerary follows the Half day Course 2 itinerary above) -> End the tour after arrival at Sakai Plaza of Rikyu and Akiko.
