Shoryu-ji Temple has been the temple of dragons for over 1200 years. It is also the site of this paper cut-out design experience led by the artist KAMICO. Select your favorite design from candidates including Sanskrit text, dragons and Hosokawa Gracia, a historic figure linked to the temple, and cut it out free-hand using a knife. Participants assemble the washi paper used for the finished projects, which is then framed and can be kept as a souvenir. Visitors can also tour the hondo main hall after the experience, and spend some time sipping herbal tea by candlelight.
