Nada no Kenka Festival (Matsubara Hachiman Shrine Autumn Festival)

Nada no Kenka Festival (Matsubara Hachiman Shrine Autumn Festival)

The sound of the taiko drums of the shishi yatai floats has been selected as one of the 100 Soundscapes of Japan

The Nada no Kenka Festival (also known as the Nada Festival) is a major autumnal festival carried out on a grand scale annually on October 14th and 15th at Matsubara Hachiman Shrine in Shirahama, Himeji. The sights of three portable shrines banged into each other and of seven gorgeously decorated floats bumped together is majestic.
