Shotenkyo Sandbar

Shotenkyo Sandbar

【Description】
The formation of this sandbar separated Kumihama Bay from the Sea of Japan. Its name, which means "Little Bridge to Heaven," was inspired by the more famous Amanohashidate, a sandbar that is one of the three great views of Japan and whose name means "Bridge to Heaven." The sand shoreline extends for roughly 8 km, making it the longest beach in the northern Kinki region.
