The Kyōto YouMe Triennale brings together works by creators from Japan and around the world, creating an international platform for dialogue and collaboration across art, design, and craft, with “making” at its heart.
Through encounters between diverse creative practices and perspectives, the Triennale seeks to carry forward Kyoto’s rich craft traditions while opening up new possibilities for their future development.
The 2026 edition will take place from Friday, October 9 to Sunday, October 18, 2026.

●Event Overview

Dates: October 9 (Fri) - October 18 (Sun), 2026
Main Venues: Shōsei-en Garden (Kikoku-tei), Higashi Honganji Temple; Jūshin Kaikan; and other venues
Main Programmes:
- International Exhibition
An international exhibition featuring creators from Japan and overseas, centred around the historic Shōsei-en Garden.
- YouMe Open
A series of satellite events taking place at venues throughout Kyoto.
- YouMe Conference
An international conference bringing together creators, researchers, and other experts from Japan and around the world.
- YouMe Journey
A programme of visits, experiences, and交流 opportunities connecting participants with places, people, and creative practices across Kyoto Prefecture and surrounding areas.
