Nanki Kumano Geopark
In Nanki Kumano Geopark, you can see three different geologic bodies which were occurred by the subduction of the crustal plate. Miyoshi Geopark
“Elevated Villages and the Flowing Yoshinogawa River on the Ever-Changing Earth.” This is the theme of Miyoshi Geopark, which showcases the dynamic relationship between land and life. Here, you can experience landscapes shaped by dramatic three geological movements, including Eroding Land, sculpted by river erosion; Crumbling Land, formed through landslides; and Moving Land, influenced by the active Median Tectonic Line. These geological features have fostered a rich diversity of flora and fauna. Despite the challenging terrain, local communities have developed unique lifestyles in harmony with the land, reflecting their resilience and deep connection to nature.
