
The Tale of Genji Museum, Uji
The Tale of Genji Museum is located in the city of Uji, the stage for the ten Uji Chapters in The Tale of Genji. The museum exhibits numerous enjoyable displays related to the story, such as a full-sized reconstruction of an oxcart, a model of Hikaru Genji’s residence, the Rokujo-in, a scene showing a glimpse through a window, and fun experiential displays. In addition to original films based on the ten Uji Chapters, the museum also shows original animated movies.
